Welcome to the new Iowa Irish Language and Culture Website! The aim of this site is to provide Irish speakers and those interested in the language with a centralized source of information on classes, workshops, and other events related to the Irish language in particular, and Irish culture in general.
Unfortunately, due to the current Coronavirus situation, we have decided to postpone our Evening of Irish Music and Entertainment indefinitely. To go ahead with it at this time would be irresponsible and possibly dangerous. We must all be diligent and safe during this outbreak.
Our Facebook fundraiser will continue until March 21st, and I hope you will share it with your friends, and consider making a donation.

The fifth annual Irish Language and Culture Weekend was held at Coe College, Cedar Rapids, on the 14th - 16th June. Almost forty students attended the event, and classes were held at four levels. This year's instructors were Tom Jeffers, Dineen Grow, Bairbre Ní Chiardha, and Briain Ó hAirt.
Michael O'Halloran gave a fascinating talk on Irish archaeology. There were many musicians who provided entertainment well into the night.
